Hey Tim, MEW is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get editor. That means, you can design pages with it in a visual way. Most of editors mentioned here are pure code editors, intended for writing code. If you need the visual component, the closes you will get to it from these examples is Dreamweaver.

My advice would be to give both a try and see what works best for you. Many of the options on this list are free, so you can try them out at no risk.
