To be honest, I don’t have any experience with this. If I were in your position, I’d think whether there is another domain ending your can use like healthkey.net. As for the registered trademark route, that might be a question better posed to a lawyer. I am not sure if that can be used as an argument to ask someone to relinquish a domain.
]]>I would stay away from contractions like this. It makes your domain harder to remember and creates an unnecessary hurdle for visitors. Plus, if you are going to purchase the non-contracted domain anyway, I think you are just creating extra cost for yourself.
]]>First of all, I hope your present domain writes fulfill with a double l and you just made a typo. Otherwise, I would definitely change it.
Secondly, I like wellbeingroad.com. It’s definitely more distinct and relevant to your website topic. LiveEnjoyFulfill is a bit generic in comparison. However, you might also see if you can come up with an even better idea.
Hope this helps!
]]>Thank you for your time!
]]>My first question here is if you have done any keyword research to see what people actually type into search engines to find services like you are planning to offer. I feel like that would be important for what you are planning.
Aside from that, I don’t really see anything wrong with using ecsimmigration.ca. ecsvia.com/.ca also looks fine, I would stay away from numbers in your domain name, and filemypr.ca has a nice call to action in it though I find the sequence of letters doesn’t look too nice. I also find immigrationplace.ca too vague to be honest.
Hope this helps you out. Let me know if you have more questions.
]]>Hey Mark, I agree that that is a bit long. You could consider just using markatherton.co.uk (if available) and making sure you include “Mark Atherton Photography” as your website title. However, I also think going with the .photography domain should work. These TLDs are there for a reason after all. Hope this helps!
]]>From what I have got here and in other online research, good domain name for me should include Wellbeing and something indirectly relating to travel, not travel itself. This because in future I may increase writing about other ways for well-being.
The present domain name is LiveEnjoyFulfil.com, and written only two posts.
Please guide if I should change to something like WellbeingRoad.com? Would that be more brandable in long term?
Or, should I proceed in another way to create a name?
Thanks.
Hello there,
Thanks for the great blog. I am now in that stage where I have to finalize the domain and set up the website. I am starting up an immigration consultancy firm and looking for a suggestion.
The company name is ECS Immigration Consultancy Inc. (based in Canada)
So, I was first thinking of a generic domain as http://www.ecsimmigration.ca, but now I am confused as I feel not many people will find me with this name. Other potential domains I find good.
*www.ecsvisa.com (.ca) instead of ecsimmigration.ca
*www.pr2canada.ca
Any advice or suggestion is highly appreciated.
Regards
G
]]>Hey Barbara, thanks for the excellent and detailed question! Honestly, I think your domain name is good. It’s short, memorable, and meaningful. While I would have liked claimyourjoy better (just for its rhythm), I think claimjoy.com is completely fine. I also like the way your new email address would look (which I have removed so that it can’t be scraped by spammers). So, in short, I think you have a winner.
]]>My underlying purpose/mission is to help people experience more joy in their life, as a conscious choice, no matter what the circumstances are, and remove their blocks to joy.
Here’s my domain name, etc.: ClaimJoy.com
A tag line I often use after that for talks, programs, etc. is as follows:
Claim Joy…no matter what!
My question: Do you think this works well to fit the main criteria you mention in your wonderful article? It seems to be a good brand name, says what I’m about, and also a call to action.
Most other choices I like, such as “ChooseJoy”, or “LiveYourJoy” or “PathToJoy, are already taken.
And I was thinking of switching to ClaimYourJoy to make it more personal, but someone recently took it.
Thanks so much for your input!
Barbara Lovejoy
PS: I’ve still been using my other domain, which is my name, for my email address, because I didn’t want to bother with adding on another one. And I also like folks to have my full name when I send an email.
If I add it at some point, then I’d probably make it: [redacted]—which would be more consistent for building my brand.
Do you think this email would be best?
my experience says its better to go for the website name first and see if the business name is available too. Both must be available. It’s not easy since the name is really important.
]]>Hey there Daphna, thanks for the detailed question. I would definitely stay away from the double d solution (ddailyxxx). This will just confuse visitors. I also don’t think putting a hyphen in there is a good solution. If FOCUS-IN is important to you, you can try to establish it as your brand though I agree that people will tend to put a “g” at the end if you include it in your domain. If you want to run with it, dailyfocusin.com sounds like the best option to me. Overall, I think dailyfocus.com would be easiest to remember.
Hope this helps!
]]>Hey Ruth, I think you should go either one way or the other, meaning either use your daughter’s name or a brand name and combine it with a meaningful SEO title that explains her business or get a domain that is descriptive of the business like softtissuetherapy.co.uk or similar. therapywithkate seems a little vague. Users know neither who Kate is nor what kind of therapy she offers from the URL.
