Hey Rabeea, in the same place that you set up a static homepage, you can also determine your blog page. In order to do so, you need create the page you want to use. It can be completely empty except for a title but having a page gives you a URL where you blog posts appear. You can also add this page to your navigation menu for easier access.

This tutorial was very helpful. However, I published two blogs so I could see what I was customizing. Now I want to add a Home Page but I don’t know how to rename/change the URL of my blogposts page. I can add a static homepage but then my blogposts page gets lost, is nowhere too be found.

How do I do this please? Please help :(!

Many thanks!

You can absolutely password protect parts or all of your website, for example, with a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/password-protect-page/. However, which is the best solution depends on your needs and requirements.

My proposed website would be for sharing info within my group of about 100 people. I do not plan to sell or solicit anything, so it is not a commercial or business venture. I will not be looking to add members to the group. So I if a create a website with a bunch of content after the home page, can I limit access to members of my group? Can I make the content password login controlled? Thanks.

It depends on what you mean by creating a template. If you change the page layout or apply a page template to your pages, this will not affect the content. Therefore, you can do it without a problem. However, if you want to change the formatting of the content itself, you have to do it manually in the editor.

I am putting together a website that I have not published yet.
I have done the inefficient method of building each page, if I decide to create a template can it be applied to pages with preexisting content?

Hey Anna-Katharina, that is an excellent question. You can find a breakdown of who is in charge of web domains here: https://computer.howstuffworks.com/question422.htm. As for the domain name server, this tells user browsers which server a domain is pointing to. That way, when you type in a web address, you can see the website that belongs to this domain. I hope that makes things clear.

I was wondering who actually owns the domain or who am I paying? Who has the power to increase the monthly rate from $2.99/month to $100/month. Is it possible to buy domains? Where could I do that and what are the pro and cons?
Last questions why do I have to change the Domain Name Server?

Thank you so much

Hey Ariel, unfortunately I don’t have any experience with that. Maybe this post would help: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2018/10/headless-wordpress-decoupled/.

Our front end is completely custom. I’ve finally wrapped my head around which content should live in a page, and which should live in a post (I’m using the CPT plug in for the post components). But any additional help would be welcome, especially that CPT plug in)!

The first thing to check when there is problem with images is always whether your file permissions are configured correctly. See: https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions

Hey Abby, the first place to look is Appearance > Menus. If you can’t disable it there, it might be something your theme does. Check whether it offers separate options to configure this part of your site. Hope this helps!
